What is Busto & Sun?
Busto & Sun is a luxury hat studio based in Topanga Canyon, California. We create custom, handcrafted hats that reflect the spirit of Italian craftsmanship with the soul of California creativity. Every piece is made-to-order with care, precision, and an eye for personal expression.
Where is the Busto & Sun Workshop and Store?
Our workshop and showroom are in the heart of Topanga Canyon:

We make all of our hats right here in the shop and are open for walk-ins:
Wednesday – Sunday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Each hat is made-to-order with deep attention to detail. We don’t mass-produce—we collaborate. From fit to finishing touches, everything is designed to reflect the individuality of the wearer. The result is a handcrafted heirloom with a story, made with integrity and heart.

How do I place a custom hat order?

How does the custom hat process work?
The process begins with a conversation—either in-person or online—where we get to know your style, preferences, and the story you want your hat to tell. From there, we co-design your hat, select materials, and handcraft every detail with care.
How long does it take to receive a custom hat?
Most custom orders take about 2–4 weeks from consultation to delivery, depending on complexity. Rush options may be available—just ask!
Do you make hats for weddings or special events?
Absolutely. We’ve created hats for bridal looks, red carpets, music tours, and milestone celebrations. We love working on one-of-a-kind pieces for one-of-a-kind moments.
Sizing & Fit
How do I know my hat size?
We recommend checking our Size Guide and watching our short video tutorial to measure your head accurately from home. If you’re visiting us in-store, we’ll size you on the spot for a perfect fit.
What if my hat doesn’t fit right?
If you’re not happy with the fit, please get in touch. We offer resizing and adjustments on Busto & Sun hats. Our goal is always to make sure your hat feels as good as it looks.
Care & Repairs
How should I care for my hat?
Gently brush your hat with a soft hat brush and spot-clean with a slightly damp cloth. Always handle your hat by the brim (not the crown) and store it in a cool, dry place. For more detailed advice, see our Hat Care Guide.
Do you offer cleaning or repair services?
We offer reshaping and maintenance on Busto & Sun hats, but do not decorate or repair hats made by other brands. For anything more complex, just reach out—we’re happy to advise.
Online Orders & Shipping
Do you sell hats online?
Yes! We offer a curated selection of ready-to-wear styles online. If you’re interested in something bespoke, we recommend booking a consultation.
When will my hat ship?
Most ready-to-wear hats ship within 2-4 weeks of the order date. You’ll receive tracking info once your order is on the way.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to most countries worldwide. International shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout. If you’re outside the U.S. and unsure, just reach out.
How do I return an online order?
We accept returns on eligible online purchases within 7 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. To start a return, email us at custom@bustoandsun.com.
Custom hats and any personalized or modified products are final sale and not eligible for return.
If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, just reach out and we’ll help clarify.
Visiting the Shop
Do I need an appointment to visit the store?
Appointments are recommended, but not required—feel free to stop by during open hours if we’re available. If you’re interested in designing a custom hat, though, we do ask that you book an appointment.
Can I just come in and browse?
Yes, and we’d love that. Our shop is cozy, welcoming, and full of treasures. You’re welcome to explore our ready-to-wear collection or chat with us about custom work.
Events & Collaborations
Do you collaborate with other creatives or brands?

Do you host events or pop-ups?

Do you offer wholesale or private label services?
